Die Band über sich:
Loosely translated as ‘Gift of the Sun’, we interpret this to represent the bringing of light, of perception, of meaning, of seeing movement and motion, of design and flaw. This light also brings the shadow, creating contrast and showing the darker aspects of our nature.
We find our meaning, as a band and as people, in the interplay between light and darkness, between order and chaos, between purpose and irrelevance, and we hope to bring this spirit into a shared space with you. Our shows are more than performances; they’re ceremonies of meaning – tribal, confronting, intense, cathartic. We invite you to bring your own intentions — whether to release emotion, find joy, or simply feel something real. Our goal is a space for reflection, connection, and honest expression, with no claims to certainty. Elidi, the quiet observer, inspired by myth and mystery, nods to stories that remind us life’s contradictions are part of the journey — moments of beauty and brokenness coexisting. We embrace the raw and cinematic, blending textures and visuals to create worlds both visceral and luminous. Life’s complexity is in the contrasts we celebrate: somber and exuberant, serious and playful. Ultimately, Elidi is about finding your own way through the journey of the simultaneous experience of pain and joy and loss, of beauty and horror and isolation, of foreboding and desperation and hope

Wir kennen sie alle: Die Drei-Uhr-Nachts-YouTube-Vorschläge. Während ich entspannt im Wohnzimmer auf der Couch lag und las, während im Hintergrund Sleep Token lief, spülte mir der Algorithmus Elidi in den Mix. Von der ersten Sekunde an war ich „hooked“, eine verblüffende Ähnlichkeit mit Sleep Token, aber doch irgendwie anders. Während ich bei ähnlichen Bands in der Regel das Problem habe, dass mich die Alben schnell langweilen, hat mich ihr Album Angor Animi direkt mehr als „gehooked“. Die 46 Minuten Spielzeit ihres aktuellen Langspielers vergingen für mich wie in 10 Minuten.
Mit wunderbaren Cleans, melodischen Riffs, gespickt mit der ein oder anderen härteren Passage, und einem mystischen Vibe entführen Elidi in Klangwelten, welche mein Core geprägtes Gehör direkt verzaubern. In dem Song Waiting for the Sun, welcher instrumental klingt wie ein Imminence Track, in dem die Geigen durch lautenähnliche Zupfinstrumente ersetzt wurden, geht es beispielsweise um Selbstentdeckung und Selbstreflexion, Loslassen und Akzeptanz und Warten und Sehnsucht, alles in allem also ein recht emotionaler Song.
Mit jeder Minute wurde mir klarer, dass Elidi weit mehr sind, als eine zufällige Ähnlichkeit zu Sleep Token – sie erschaffen ihre ganz eigene, berührende Klangwelt. Angor Animi fühlt sich an wie ein kurzer Ausflug in etwas Vertrautes, das dennoch immer wieder überrascht. Ein Zufallsfund, der sich sofort wie ein musikalischer Schatz anfühlte.
