The band about itself:

Rabia Sorda is a Mexican-German band created in 2003 by Erk Aicrag to unleash his inner voices. Rabia Sorda music is an energetic experience, it is all about transforming, destroying and recreating the world around. The band is formed by Erk Aicrag on lead vocals, Marcus Engel on Guitars and Maxx on Drums, They Three together join in to burst the sonic experience beyond the barrier of sound itself .

Someone like Erk Aicrag does not require a large scale introduction, he helped shape the history of Hard Electronic music and has spawned numerous copycats and with Rabia Sorda he allows himself to explore music in a different direction, it’s sound could be defined as an Electronic- Rock- Body-Metal-Punk Rock-bastard that was born to stir up some trouble.
Rabia Sorda that means “Deaf Rage” is a very personal band name that for Erk means there is no other way than being what he is and therefore he is deaf to other’s opinions on him, because they don’t mean anything to him.

Editorial commentary:

Rabia Sorda is a side project by Mexican musician Erk Aicraig, who gained international fame as the singer of the well-known electro-industrial and aggrotech band Hocico.

Rabia Sorda was founded in the early 2000s as a creative experiment by Aicraig. Musically, it combines hard electronic beats with distorted synthesizers, a punk attitude and uncompromising, often provocative lyrics. Thematically, the songs often deal with anger, social injustices, personal abysses and rebellion against norms.

Live, Rabia Sorda stands for raw energy, intense performances by Erk (vocals), Marco (drums), Titus (guitar) and Giulia (percussion + dance), as well as an immediate closeness to the audience. They have thus earned themselves a permanent place in the international industrial and EBM scene.

I have known the band for quite some time, since their cult album Noise Diary was released in 2009, and have had the opportunity to see them live at various events since then. It is always an incredible experience that leaves no one standing still – absolute mayhem! And definitely worth a listen 😉

Music recommendation:

One suggestion from us is the new song No Hay Dolor!, which has been available to listen to and watch since September 2025. Since Rabia Sorda’s last album – The World Ends Today (released in 2018) – came out quite a while ago, one might assume that this new and brutal release is a harbinger of a new album. We’ll see…

Upcoming live dates:

  • 14.03.2026 – Leipzig (D), E-Only Festival
  • 11.04.2026 – Chemnitz (D), Blacktron Festival
  • 05.-07.06.2026 – Busenwurth (D), Lucy-Fairs Garden
