Band of the week 09/2026
Origin: Frankfurt am Main, Deutschland
Genre: Heavy Metal
Hier geht’s zur deutschen Version.
The band about itself:
Since 2011, the four-piece band “Firestorm” from Frankfurt has been thrilling all fans of harder rock! Building on a foundation of straight hard rock, over time they have developed a symbiosis of technically demanding riffs and solos from various metal subgenres such as heavy, thrash, power, and alternative, incorporating elements of metalcore. Their energetic, rousing shows have shaped the band’s reputation just as much as their rare values of continuity, sticking to their own line, their own path, against the mainstream tide, even and especially in difficult times, such as the recent coronavirus pandemic. Their new album “Rooted Future” perfectly reflects all the musical facets that pave the way for the quartet’s bright future.
Editorial commentary:
I got to know Firestorm at Metal Up Your Christmas 5 and was immediately impressed. Good rock ‘n’ roll heavy metal, pure and simple. And it’s fun too. These guys have rock ‘n’ roll in their blood, know how to get the audience going, and live for music. They’re not as aggressive as some other bands, but seeing them live is a real treat. They proved at Metal Up Your Christmas that they can win over audiences who are actually there for other music. This festival is better known for metalcore, melodic death metal, and similar music. But with their enthusiasm and rock ‘n’ roll in their blood, they completely won everyone over and were really celebrated. And, of course, they’re not afraid to chat with the audience at the merch stand afterwards, which shows how down-to-earth and genuinely likeable they are. Actually, it’s a perfect combination for success. Maybe it will happen, they deserve it. In addition, there will be new music from the guys before their upcoming tour in the fall.
