Editorial commentary:

There are always bands that blow you away the first time you hear them. That’s what happened to me with Serpents from Poland when I listened to their music in the run-up to Ektomorf’s “Vivid Black Over Europe” tour. The combination of metalcore and electronic beats was an instant hit and made quite an impression. Songs such as Hourglass or Self-Made Suffering have a brute groove without missing any melodies. This quartet alternates between brute and melodic, striking shouting meets skilfully placed clean vocals. All in all, this still young band quickly set themselves apart from the “typical” metalcore sound and created their very own sound. This exciting mix works really well live, nothing is lost in the sound and the show is a lot of fun overall. Founded in 2023, Serpents still have a great future ahead of them, so it will be interesting to see what they have in store for us. Their latest single, The Signal, is very promising.
