At Wacken Open Air 2024, I was able to experience how wonderfully crazy and energetic a live performance by Aquilla can be. Bright colors, unusual headgear or hairstyles and gigantic sunglasses are the norm here. The musicians do full justice to the term intergalactic heavy metal, as their performances really do seem to be out of this world. Imagine a spaceship landing directly on stage and the occupants immediately starting to play an energetic, groovy sound. Aquilla exude this vibe with their performances. The whole thing is rounded off by the singer’s varied, high and slightly raspy voice. Definitely a spectacle that all fans of cultivated power metal must experience live. Positive vibes and a good mood are the order of the day and are absolutely infectious. After all, it’s not for nothing that the band achieved 2nd place in the 2024 edition of the Wacken Metal Battle for their stage presence.
So if you want to enjoy an intergalactic concert or feel like you’re from another planet while poging and dancing, you should definitely remember the name Aquilla. Fear of flying is not a companion here, because the five musicians know exactly how to steer the musical spaceship rhythmically perfect through their very own galaxy.
