Dark Oath is an epic symphonic death metal band from Portugal, known for its powerful and emotionally charged music. With a passion for storytelling and a deep connection to mythology and folklore, Dark Oath’s music takes listeners on epic journeys through the realms of human history.
In their debut album, „When Fire Engulfs the Earth,“ Dark Oath delved into Norse mythology, particularly the cataclysmic event of Ragnarök. Their sophomore album, „Ages of Man,“ turns their attention to Greek mythology and invites listeners to journey through time and experience the highs and lows of human existence, exploring the rise and fall of humanity through the Gold, Silver, Bronze, Heroic, and Iron ages, as told by ancient greek poet Hesiod.

Let’s be honest… If you don’t know Dark Oath yet, you’ve definitely been missing out!
I first came across the band, fronted by Sara, at the Skaldenfest a few years ago. Unfortunately, it took quite a long time before I finally got to see them live again. And now they’re finally going on tour, accompanying French melodic death metal band Aephanemer on a major European tour.
Plenty of chances for you to catch up if you’ve missed them so far!
Let’s be honest… Who doesn’t think of Nightwish when they hear the words ‘symphonic’ and ‘female-fronted’?
But Dark Oath are in a different league! Deep growls, more heaviness and very fan-friendly – but still melodic…
Live, the four of them immediately manage to captivate everyone with their enthusiasm and great stage presence. It usually doesn’t take long before the hair is flying and the crowd is fully engaged.
