The band about itself:
Out on the Atlantic Ocean, disguised in a cloud of eternal haze, lies the mystical realm of Terra Atlantica. A city once divine but fallen in disgrace with the gods, cursed to spend eleven thousand years at the bottom of the sea, now resurrected to restore the ancient order on the seven seas. The countless tales emerging from this eternal circle of rise and decay are coming alive through our music.
Editorial commentary:
Terra Atlantica, a band that I hadn’t heard of at the beginning of the year, how could I as a Swiss person when the guys come from the stormy north?
That’s why there are events like the Aaargh Festival, which brings such little treasure chests to the south. In addition to the very likeable appearance of the musicians, for whom the only rays of sunshine of the day were shining, I was particularly enchanted by their genre mix.
Power metal with melody, which, depending on the album, takes on various themes: the eponymous lost city of Atlantis on A City Once Divine, steampunk with Age of Steam and piracy behind Beyond the Borders. Dressed accordingly, of course, the tracks are sent into battle as dreamy ballads, uplifting songs of freedom or full-on cannon barrels.
For fans of steam-driven, buccaneering fantasy fables in epic guise, more than just a secret tip on a treasure map!
