Band of the week: Bosparans Fall

Band of the week 10/2026

Origin: Wangen im Allgäu, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Genre: Melodic Death Metal

Hier geht’s zur deutschen Version.

The band about itself:

Bosparan’s Fall was founded in 2022 as a role-playing gaming metal project. The members of the southern German band stand for melodic death metal with various influences from other extreme metal genres. Their first release is the three-song EP “Pantheon,” which has received consistently positive reviews. Conceptually, the band is set in Aventuria, a fantasy world from the German-language pen-and-paper role-playing game “Das Schwarze Auge” (The Dark Eye). In 2022, the band signed a label deal with Black Sunset/MDD Records. Their first album is the first chapter of a three-part concept series about the warrior Alrik Immerda, entitled “Götterspiel: Dunkle Zeiten” (Game of Gods: Dark Times).

Editorial commentary:

I first saw Bosparan’s Fall during their very first performance ain 2023 at the Aaargh Festival. Their debut album had only been out for a month at that point, and even then, the band put on a very decent stage show, complete with matching costumes. Those fit in with the band’s overall concept, as they had taken inspiration from the German fantasy pen-and-paper role-playing game Das Schwarze Auge (The Dark Eye), to which the band name and the stories behind their lyrics refer. This naturally scores points with connoisseurs and fans of the game, but it also appeals to fantasy fans in general. Since their debut, the band has evolved considerably and now presents a very elaborate show with even more elaborate costumes and an additional actor who embodies various roles throughout the show, adding an extra dimension to the whole experience.

I am impressed by the band both on their album and live, and with their constant development, their concerts never lose their appeal. The band is currently working on their second album, Dunkle Zeiten II: Namenlose Tage (Dark Times II: Nameless Days), but unfortunately, there is nothing to hear from it yet. The release show will take place this year on the warm-up day for the 20th anniversary of Aaargh-Festival, which, referencing the album title, is called Nameless Night, where the band will play a 90-minute headliner show that is sure to be quite a spectacle.
