Editorial commentary:

At the Mead & Greed Festival in 2023, the Lithuanian folk metal band Ūkanose were touted to me as a little Baltic delicacy for the next edition. Curious as I am, I listened to it straight away when I got home. It’s just a shame that I had to wait a whole year to finally see the guys live. But first things first: it was so worth it!

Ūkanose were the third band to start on Saturday, and many visitors were really looking forward to it, including me. And we were not disappointed! What an energy the guys brought to the stage, they were constantly dashing back and forth and their singer kept making pilgrimages across the stage while singing. The audience returned this power in the form of mosh pits and dancing.

It really was a party and a lot of fun! Beautiful melodies, always very danceable and, what I always like, sung in their mother tongue. Ūkanose really knew how to captivate the audience. Unfortunately, the singer of the band was missing and I hope to see her in full next time, because that would certainly put the icing on the cake!

Unfortunately, they don’t tour in Germany very often and I hope that will change after now, because these super likeable Lithuanians deserve it more than enough!

If I’ve aroused your curiosity, why don’t you take a look at their website and leave a like!
