Origin: Great Britain/ Spain
Genre: indie rock
The band about themselves:
The British / Spanish artist, who writes and records in both English and Spanish, has toured extensively throughout Europe with previous highlights encompassing Isle of Wight Festival, FIB (Benicassim Festival), Spanish national television (Los Conciertos de Radio 3), and supporting Stereophonics across 19 dates of their 2020 European tour, including sold-out Manchester Arena and Cardiff Arena shows.
Editorial commentary:
What an incredibly clear voice! This thought popped into my head when I heard Nadia Sheikh sing live for the first time. The singer-songwriter was a perfect support for the Welsh rock band Stereophonics and gained a new fan with me within the first few songs. By means of a really fantastic online concert, Nadia, during the Corona period, brought some light into the bleak dreariness of the gray pandemic everyday life. For me she is an incredibly likeable and extremely talented musician.
If you like to be enchanted by rocky, calm sounds paired with a gorgeous female voice, you should definitely not miss a live performance of the spanglish artist. On her social media accounts, she also regularly posts videos in which she performs some of her songs live and mostly unplugged. In February 2023, Nadia Sheikh released a new single called Shadows. There will also be a new EP from the artist in the near future.

Music recommendation:
Band of the week is our weekly posting about a band we recommend and is posted every Tuesday at 8pm. These are bands that are just at the beginning of their career that we think need more attention. Please note that most of the articles are German.
