Band of the week 25/2026
Origin: Saarbrücken, Germany
Genre: Dark Rock
Hier geht’s zur deutschen Version.
The band about itself:
Two Minds Collide is a three-piece dark rock band from Saarbrücken. Their sound blends modern rock with dark electronic elements, metal, and emotive orchestral arrangements. Formed in 2017, the band explores society’s ever-increasing loss of empathy.
They are committed to offering their listeners a platform for emotions and self-reflection. Frontman Tobias “Lias” Engel sings in English about his own experiences, the highs and lows of life, and the clash between these phases and how to navigate them.
Editorial commentary:
Two Minds Collide won me over right from the start. Powerful guitar riffs, melodies guaranteed to stick in your head, and emotional English-language lyrics in which you can often recognize yourself. The three musicians Lias (vocals/guitar), Finch (bass), and Tom (drums) create songs that are not only musically compelling but also possess depth in their content.
Who hasn’t struggled with interpersonal relationships, self-doubt, societal changes, and the challenges of an increasingly digital world? The latter is a particular focus on their current album, An Artificial Truth.
This year, Two Minds Collide headlined the Winternacht Festival in Neunkirchen, they won the vote for the coveted spot as the opening act at the Hexentanz Festival and also at the Gothic Night in Wuppertal, the band delivered their versatile energy to the audience, ensuring their performances will be remembered for a long time to come.
Frontman Lias, nicknamed Li, should already be familiar to some, as he has been a permanent member of the band ASP since August 2021, serving as bassist and backup vocalist. The songs Age of the Hurricanes and Blood Red Wine were created through this collaboration. In 2020, Two Minds Collide served as the opening act for the Kosmonautilus Tour, and in 2024, they joined the 25 Years of ASP Tour. Double duty for Li – double the fun for the fans.
The band is currently working on their fifth album, and I can reveal this much: the trio is going to crank up the metal even more.
