The band about itself:

„Gannondorf seeps from the fractures of dead worlds, a nameless curse adrift between dimensions.“

Editorial Commentary:

Gannondorf is an Extreme Metal band from California. Their style is a blend of melodic Black Metal and dystopian Death Metal. Inspired by warlike fantasy characters and stories, their music sounds as aggressive as it is monumental. Fast guitar riffs clash with raw vocals, and a keyboard consistently provides a melodic framework for the arrangement. The lyrics deal with themes such as power and doom, war, and the rulers of forgotten civilizations. When you experience Gannondorf live, you feel transported into their dark narratives.

I saw Gannondorf at the Wacken Metal Battle 2026. There, they played a 20-minute set. With deep growls, raspy vocals, and powerful riffs, the five guys from California came across as raw and warlike. The keyboard provided a harmonious soundscape, ensuring the music didn’t come across as too one-dimensional. The musicians were all in costume. The singer, masked as a horned warrior, played his role convincingly. There was a combative atmosphere that matched the themes of the lyrics. Gannondorf’s faster songs, in particular, went over well with the audience, who headbanged and moshed accordingly.
